Trail Overview
Kratzer Road is a short, dead-end trail. The main section of the trail consists of dirt, and even after a couple of days of rain, the trail was relatively dry. It has plenty of water runoffs cut into the trail and is wide enough for most 4x4 vehicles to fit through without receiving a lot of pinstripes on your paint. The first 100 feet of the trail are pitted with deep potholes that stay filled with water. At that point, the trail splits off to Strausbaugh Haul Road, which was gated during mapping and was unable to access. This trail did present a lot of wildlife, with wild turkey and woodpeckers frequenting the trail.

Difficulty
This trail presents very little difficulty and is not technical. But the wildlife and views of the valley in which it is contained are worth the ride. Kratzer Road has plenty of turnarounds. While it is only wide enough for one vehicle, it is wide enough to avoid scratching your paint. It is a nice trail to relax and enjoy the scenery after traversing the more challenging surrounding trails.
