Trail Overview
King Trail is a "drivable trail" in Pennsylvania, which means a high clearance 4x4 vehicle is recommended and maintenance is minimal. This is a scenic trail that winds along the ridge of Sideling Hill between US 30 and I-76. There are lots of whoops along this narrow and rocky route that make it challenging for a trailer. It has a couple of dispersed motorized camp sites, which require a reservation on Reserve America. These are pretty secluded, given that they are on a trail that not all vehicles will be suited for. If you want to pull a trailer to them, take the short trail north of King Trail that heads east from Jerry Road, and it takes you to the two camp sites without much trouble. It does not have a name on the DCNR map, and it doesn't appear on OnX, but it takes you right to site SH018 and is only 500 yards long. Otherwise, this is an out-and-back trail unless the gates are open at Laidig Spring Trail. It's generally quiet, but at points you can hear noise from the PA Turnpike/I-76.

Difficulty
This is considered a Pennsylvania "drivable trail," which means it receives little maintenance, and a high-clearance 4x4 is recommended. The route is rocky with occasional wet, muddy sections that generally have a firm base. Expect a series of whoops that can make trailer access to the campsites difficult.
History
King Trail is not specifically detailed in public records or trail guides, but its existence and ongoing use are a result of CCC heritage and Pennsylvania's dedication to access and conservation of public lands.
