Hyner River Road is primarily a graded gravel road with multiple sections of dirt. The southern end is rutted dirt with a steep incline. It is an easy ride in the summer months, however, there is no winter maintenance. During times of rain, snow, and ice, the road can become rutted and harder to travel on. Hyner River Road is within Sproul State Forest. The road travels along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River between Lock Haven and Renovo. The road can be flooded in times of high water.

Difficulty

Hyner River Road is an easy ride in the summer months, however there is no winter maintenance. During times of rain, snow, and ice the road will become harder to travel on. It can become washed out and rutted in the spring thaw and rainy seasons. There can be water in the ruts and they will become slick and muddy. In times of flooding and high water parts of the road will be under water.

Access Description

Hyner River Road is primarily a north-south running road. It is accessed on the north in Hyner from Pennsylvania State Route 120 north of Lock Haven in Lycoming County, and ends at the intersection with Graham Road on the south.
