Trail Overview

Embark on an adventure along the drivable trail of Gettis Ridge Road and Wampler Road. These two roads seamlessly blend into one, leading you into the heart of Rothrock State Forest. With rocks, water holes, and stunning valley views, every moment promises to be memorable. Gettis Ridge Road offers a bumpy yet soothing ride, mostly dirt and rocks with occasional patches of grass. As you gradually ascend the mountain ridge, the landscape unfolds before you in all its splendor. Once you reach the intersection with Wampler Road, the road becomes smoother, though challenges still await. Keep an eye out for the water holes, especially after rainfall, when they can reach depths of up to 12 inches, adding a bit of splash to your adventure. This is a nice easy road to catch the spring bloom and the fall foliage up close.
