This hard-packed stone road follows the picturesque east branch of Hicks Run. The route features multiple designated pull-offs providing access for trout fishing and trails into the surrounding wilderness. The drive is a premier location for wildlife observation. The region is particularly renowned for its resident elk herd, and visitors have an excellent opportunity to view these magnificent animals directly from their vehicles if they get lucky. The track navigates through diverse terrain, passing notable rock formations and crossing backcountry bridges.
