Trail Overview

The 4th Run Trail is open during select hunting seasons and runs through Hickory Run State Park. It features three water crossings, including one that goes through a tunnel under the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The trail is one vehicle wide with minimal risk of pinstriping and can be completed with a 4WD or a high-clearance AWD vehicle.

Difficulty

This is a dirt road with some small rutted-out areas. The water crossings are normally low however, after heavy rainfall, they have the potential to be deeper and more difficult to traverse. In winter, the water crossings may freeze over, adding difficulty to pass.

It seems like the trail is open cuz the gate isn’t immediately at the beginning of the trail but once you get to it, it is closed. So confirming, this trail is still closed as of 5/19
