Trail Overview
This trail takes you through a heavily wooded area in what was once known as Coalburg, Ohio. The area was known for its many coal mines from the 1800s through the early 1900s. The trail starts out as dirt and gravel mix and straight away takes you to Coalburg Lake where people often fish. It then turns to packed dirt trails with many dips that will fill up with water and mud after rain storms. The area has been logged out, so you will come across areas of open fields filled with down timber and dirt piles. There are also many off-shoot trails that will take you in different directions and in some cases, take you to hill climbs. Expect to find many of the off-shoot trails to have high weeds during the summer, though the paths are still easily followed.
