Trail Overview

This Beach access is only open from October 15- April 14. However, if you are there during this time it's a great way to access Avon Beach and have a front-row seat to an amazing beach. 4x4 is required to be able to drive on the beach as well as airing down your tires to 20 psi or less. Recovery equipment is also required along with an ORV permit. The permits are sold in annual, or 10-day passes. Be mindful of tides when traveling on the beach and make sure to keep steady momentum while driving. Equipment required: Low-pressure tire gauge, shovel, jack, and jack support, 20 psi or less in tires, fire extinguisher, trash bag, flashlight, tow straps, and recovery boards.

Difficulty

The tides can make banks of sand that vary in height. Ruts during heavy times of traffic and drop-offs can happen at low tide. Also traveling under Avon Pier can be a tight squeeze for larger rigs.
