Trail Overview
Texas Road through Beartown State Forest is designated Seasonal by the New York Department of Conservation and is not maintained between December 1st and April 1st. As such, during the winter and spring, it becomes a beautiful trail through the forest, with snow on the ground perfect for snow wheeling. During the summer and fall, enjoy a quiet drive through the woods, taking in nature or the changing leaves, while passing winter snowmobile huts, marshy swamps, and beautiful small lakes. Please be aware that it is part of a snowmobile corridor through the winter months, so caution is advised while snowwheeling. As it is a public road, wheeled traffic is year-round. This trail can be done as an out and back starting from the western portion out to Beartown Road and back, but is best done in conjunction with Beartown Road and Aspen Hollow Road running north to south.
