Trail Overview

This is a fun and short trail to Fisher Lake. The trail is rough and rocky but very easy except for one V notch obstacle that bumps the rating, otherwise, this would be considered a 2. This trail can be done in a full-size rig but a good spotter would be highly recommended for the V notch. The trail takes approximately 1 hour each way to complete. There is a private cabin at the lake and it's a great location for a lunch stop or overnight stay if camping.

Difficulty

The trail is solid rock for 90% of the trail with the above mentioned V Notch being the only really hard obstacle. It is bumpy but can be done in a mostly stock, high clearance rig with a capable driver.

Access Description

The best, and most interesting route is to start from Granite Ghost town and follow FS 1525, which is in itself, a fun and rocky trail with a lot of history and Racetrack Lake along the route. Turn onto FS 1592, which is the Fisher Lake Trail. The trail can also be accessed or looped from FS 242 from Georgetown. We prefer to do the entire loop and make a day out of it.
