Trail Overview
Prospect C (FS 3813C) is a low-standard natural gravel and dirt forest service road, within the Poplar Bluff Unit of Mark Twain National Forest. The road begins at the intersection with the New Prospect FS 3813 and Prospect B (FS 3813B), where Prospect C continues eastward, gradually going downhill, before making a couple of hard turns and rerouting northward. After pointing northward the track goes down the first minor, rutted and erosion-washed hill, before flattening out, only to go a short ways before dropping on a steeper grade for the second minor rutted and erosion-washed hill, to the point it flattens out at an opening with a private landowner gate, this is where users must turnaround and head back out the way entered taking the track uphill on the exit. To the east of this track is the Eagle Bluff valley, hosting a bend of the Black River, which can be seen through the trees, with winter being the best time to view this valley.

Difficulty
Prospect C is given a base rating of 2/10, consisting of mild graded hills, over coarse natural gravel, with soft dirt spots, potential surface mud, small loose cobbles, natural rock poking out of the surface, and small active erosion washes being under a foot of depth. It is safe to expect all the normal gravel road complications of washboards, mounding, and potholes. The difficulty could increase due to a lack of maintenance or extremely wet and inclement conditions, but difficulty could also decrease if the road were to be mended with gravel throughout. Though it is not illegal, the trail is not recommended for full-size use.
