Trail Overview
This route is a narrow and lightly traveled out-and-back trail that feels far more remote than the main roads nearby. Overgrown trees and brush crowd the path, making pinstriping very likely for wider vehicles or those with fresh paint. The trail surface is mostly dirt with shallow ruts, leaf cover, and occasional soft spots that can change with the weather. Because this route sees little traffic, expect nature to be slowly reclaiming it with low branches, encroaching vegetation, and the chance of downed limbs or small trees blocking progress. Careful tire placement and patience may be needed in sections, and drivers will return the same way they entered.

Difficulty
This narrow out-and-back route is more challenging because of tight trees, likely pinstriping, possible downed limbs, shallow ruts, and changing soft spots. It is not highly technical, but the overgrowth and limited room to maneuver raise the difficulty above a basic forest road.
History
Mark Twain National Forest was established in 1939 and spans large portions of southern Missouri. Many roads and routes through the forest originated as access roads for timber, land management, and rural travel, and today they provide access for recreation and outdoor exploration.
