Trail Overview
Taylor Creek Trail is an easy & scenic bidirectional seasonal road. Located just a mile off Highway US-131 near Crofton, this route is easily accessible. This trail is typically easy with nothing technical, just a few rutted spots that can become muddy after inclement weather and some sand that can get fairly soft. Most of the trail is a combination of sand and dirt, and curves through a beautiful section of the Traverse City Forest Management Unit. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Most of this trail is only wide enough for one to two vehicles, with limited places to pass. There's a decent dispersed campsite at mile marker 1. If you plan on utilizing this spot that's right off the trail, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY, and seek more information at the local DNR Office/Ranger Station prior to camping here. All in all, this is a great trail to get you out in the woods with some of the beautiful nature Michigan has to offer.
