Trail Overview

This is Stage Coach Road. This trail navigates from its intersection with East Shore Rd on the Southern end of Lake Gogebic, to US Highway 2/ Trail SI Right-of-Way. Stage Coach Road is a wide and well-maintained gravel road that can be used by all; however, it is specifically valuable to the ATV/ SxS crowd heading north or south, as it allows a section of non-paved riding around Lake Gogebic. This trail, while wide and straight, is full of large rolling hills. The scenery around this trail is mostly dense forest. In one location of this trail, a large power hub, as well as a cell tower service area, can be seen. This trail is open year-round. Cell service on the trail is good, depending on the provider. Be sure to reference the cell coverage map to ensure you will have any service you may require.

Difficulty

This trail can easily be navigated by all levels of riders. The trail is wide and well-maintained with excellent sight lines throughout. The only blind spots on the trail are caused by the large hills, as the trail navigates the rolling UP landscape. This trail can become soft after rainfall, causing heavier vehicles to leave ruts in the gravel or be jarred around by the surface under the gravel.
