Trail Overview

Shale Beach is another great trail on Drummond Island. The trail is a mix of rock, mud, and some deep water, so take it slow and stay on the trail. Once you get to Shale Beach, take in the sights and sounds of the water. If you like exploring for rocks, take a hike along the shoreline that is approximately 2 miles in length with rounded shale stones. It's a favorite place to picnic, walk the beach, and skip stones. Don't forget to take in the beauty of Lake Huron and some of the Canadian Islands while exploring this amazing area.
