Trail Overview

As the name implies, this is a sandy trail located primarily on public ground. This is the closest thing to a "trail" in Huron County. There are several whooped-out areas that require moderate ground clearance to pass without bottoming out. Most of the trail is dry, unless a recent rain event has occurred. Even then, the ground doesn't hold too much water, and the bottoms of the holes are pretty solid. There are plenty of places to pull off and rustic camp, along with lots of areas to hike and explore. Motorized vehicle use off-trail is not permitted in this area and is marked well.

Difficulty

This is an easy trail best suited for moderate ground clearance. In dry conditions, airing down tires or using all-wheel drive can be helpful, with loose sand and whoops being the most common obstacles.
