NFS 6680

Trail Overview

National Forest Service 6680 is a seasonal bidirectional connector trail located within the Manistee National Forest. Starting from US 10 highway, you'll begin on a sand, dirt, grass combination trail that is plentiful with aspiring trees. PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY, and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails! This trail starts alongside private property. Please be respectful of the local landowners and stick to the trail. As you continue along the trail, you'll come across several sections with exposed tree roots near the towering Red Pine Trees. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come prepared. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle, with limited places to pass. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it contains a lot of natural beauty and gives access to other great trails nearby. The end of the trail finishes at the intersection of NFS 6462 & NFS 6808. One last thing to mention is that this trail is a seasonal trail that is used for snowmobiling during the winter months. Regardless of the conditions, this is an awesome trail!
