Trail Overview
National Forest Service Trail 6396 is a scenic and easy off-road trail with nothing technical. Most of the trail is a combination of dirt, sand, and gravel. You'll weave through a beautiful section of the Manistee National Forest that is home to a gorgeous spot of tall Michigan red pine trees. Along this trail, you'll find a large dispersed campsite. If you do partake in using this spot, please Tread Lightly! Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. There are a couple of angled side hills that will cause you to be a little tippy. These are very mild, but still something worth noting in case recent weather has worsened them. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. Regardless of the conditions, this is a neat trail!
