MI 160 - Bessemer to Ironwood

Trail Overview

Pick up trail 160 just west of the Wal-Mart in Ironwood. After winding through a few streets, begin heading up to Bald Mountain through some tight woods and open farm fields. After a few times, enter the northwest portion of the Ottawa National Forest and its wide forest roads. The trail culminates at a memorial teepee constructed by the Gogebic Range Snowmobile Club, which houses a fire ring and is stocked with wood. Views of the South Range on a clear day. A turn off approximately 0.5 miles before the teepee offers a short trek to a northern lookout over Lake Superior
