Lyons Lake Road

Trail Overview

This is Dickinson County, Lyons Lake Road. This trail runs from its intersection with Sportsman Club Road, Trail A, and Calumet Mine Road Trail A, and ends at its intersection with Norway Truck Trail (NWT) Road. This is a very scenic trail and becomes even more scenic as the trail navigates further south. Scenery along the way, if traveled north to south, will start as open meadows, with sections of woods mixed throughout. Then it will transition into mature forests all around as the trail flows through the UP landscape. As the trail continues further south, elevation changes will start to become much more frequent, before they become constant as the trail reaches its endpoint, navigating through the rocky landscape. The trail surface will change between gravel and sand for most of the trail's length; however, before the trail ends, the surface will change over to an iron-rich red clay.

Difficulty

This trail can be navigated easily by riders of all experience levels. The trail itself is very forgiving, with few obstacles along the way. The sight lines on the trail are excellent in most areas; however, there is an occasional blind corner due to dense forests or steep off-camber hills. The trail surface will change back and forth between gravel and sand. This can lead to some corners being loose if the transition happens mid-corner. This trail is two vehicles wide for most of its entirety. There are a few areas that get narrower; however, sight lines in these sections are typically great.
