Trail Overview

LP 76/7 is two trails combined, but they split about a mile in. It is a very well-maintained sand trail. All downed trees are cut and pulled out of the immediate way. In some areas the sand gets a little thick, but nothing that any stock all-wheel drive vehicle can't handle, especially if the tires are aired down. On this route, you will discover a moderate hill climb and banked corners. You may also encounter some wash boarding. There are a couple of marsh/low-lying areas and the trail may have water if there has been a lot of rain. It is groomed all year round and considered an ORV route. So in the wintertime, it is only accessible to snowmobiles. This trail crosses roads and dirt bike trails, so be mindful of traffic. Check the Michigan DNR website for the applied seasonal restrictions.

Access Description

The entrance to the trail can be a little difficult to find as it is back in a neighborhood. The trail starts up near Burt Lake and finished near Weber Lake. There is a really nice state forest campground at Weber Lake.
