History
Rapid River itself has a rich history as a Native American settlement and a prominent logging town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The first sawmill in the Upper Peninsula was established on the Rapid River in 1835. The town's Main Street was once called Broadway Street. Ensign Spur C is a timber route.
