Trail Overview

Bently Lake Trail is a 4-mile bidirectional trail within the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Located just south of Marion Township between Highway 96 and 94, this trail is easily accessible. Starting from the northern end of Bently Lake Road, you'll start out in a thick section of trees with lush vegetation edging the trail on a dirt/gravel road. As you continue down the trail, you'll twist and turn as you change from a dirt/gravel road to a wet/muddy road. The wetness probably comes from the Huron River Watershed, Honey Creek, but lasts for a good mile or two. Be sure to take it all in and TREAD LIGHTLY so future generations can enjoy these public spaces. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come Prepared! You'll pass through a gorgeous section of towering trees, but be given some amazing views. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it still contains a lot of fun and beauty. This trail also gives access to other great trails nearby. The southern end of the trail finishes at the corner of Cedar Lake Road & Spears Road. Regardless of the conditions or length of this trail, it's a very fun route to check out! As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails!
