Trail Overview

Spyglass (265) is a narrow, windy road that begins near Magee Cabin and heads east towards Spyglass Lookout Tower. The road then turns south and ends at the intersection of Grizzly Ridge (260) where you'll find some amazing views. Huckleberries can be found along the sides of the road during certain times of the year. Spyglass Lookout Tower is a short walk off the road, and is available to rent for camping/recreation from July 10 to Sept 14 (Be sure to respect the privacy of guests occupying the lookout during the rental season). There is a tower support structure left over from the original structure as well as an outhouse and a ground house that functions as the recreational rental. Cell signal is intermittent in the area. This area is unmaintained in winter and snow can be found clear into May.
