Trail Overview
Middle Fork Warm Springs (7150) is a steady climbing trail in the Smoky Mountains, 20 minutes west of Ketchum, Idaho. It runs 6.1 miles from FS 70227 southwest and then south to meet Warm Springs Driveway and Middle Fork-South Fork, gaining about 1,200 feet along the way. The tread is mostly hard-packed dirt with scattered gravel and small pebbles. The lower section follows Middle Fork Warm Springs Creek before breaking away to climb through burned forest. Several large switchbacks appear on the north end, and after these, the path narrows across steep side-hills with significant exposure. The trail eventually tops out on an open ridgeline with wide views.
