Trail Overview
Mahogany Peak is an out-and-back trail, or you can return on another route if so chosen. You start at the air-down spot right off of the highway and work your way up into Chandler Canyon. It is fairly easy-going, with some minor obstacles and a rougher road that will require airing down. You will turn into Buckhorn Canyon and begin your accent towards the peak. The climb to Mahogany Peak is majestic, with several switchbacks that gain you altitude quickly. This trail is not terribly difficult in dry and good weather, however in the winter if there is snow or mud it can be quite a challenge. The peak is over 10000 feet, and offers great views of the valley below and if the weather is right you can see the Tetons to the east.

Difficulty
The surface of the road is dirt and smaller rocks, but there are some small ledges that you have to get over as well as steep climbs, sharp curves, and narrow roads with large drop offs. If there is mud or snow this will increase the difficulty of the trail.
