Trail Overview

The Greenhorn trail in the Palouse OHV trail system takes you from the Palouse River near "The Dredge" up Bald Mountain where it intersects with the Strychnine Ridge Trail near Little Bald Mountain. The trail starts pretty wide at the bottom end before narrowing down into a true 50-inch ATV track as you work your way up. There are some steeper sections, one with a significant washed-out rut right down the middle of the trail with the tread forming a pretty deep "V" toward the rut itself. This is a fun, windy, and well-built trail that makes a good loop with the Strychnine Ridge Trail if you don't mind a little gravel road riding to connect the bottom ends of each trail.
