Trail Overview

This is an easy ATV trail that starts off of East Fernan Lake Road and is used to access the Canfield trail system. There's no parking area at the south end of the trail, just an open gate leading to the dirt trail. It's a really easy two-track-width trail that is a mix of dirt, small rocks, and gravel. It goes through pine trees and grassy hillsides, slightly going uphill to the intersection with another ATV trail and the 1562 single track. This is one of a couple of ATV trails in this trail system that makes for an easy half-day ride for an ATV or is likely mostly used by dirt bikers and mountain bikers to access the other trails.

Access Description

This is a small trail system for dirt bikers and ATVs right next to the town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, that has a little bit for everyone. It has hard trails, easy trails, single tracks, and two tracks in a really cool environment. It's close to town, but you can still see wildlife here including deer and moose. There are parking areas at the end of Nettleton Gulch Road and up East Fernan Lake Road. These are multi-use trails shared with hikers and mountain bikers, so please be respectful. There are sometimes trail signs at each trail, but there are often lots of unmarked intersections, and it's like a maze of trails here, so it's really helpful to have a map out here. You may get 1 or 2 bars of cell service while on the trails, but may also have no signal, so make sure to download an offline map. It's hot in the summer here, and rainy/snowy in the winter, but it's rideable almost all year long, although it's best ridden in spring, summer, and fall.
