Trail Overview
Seaboard Grade North is a compacted dirt trail. Potholes, ruts, minor whoops, and small obstacles may be experienced. The trail may go unmanaged following storms or rain events. The majority of the trail is one vehicle wide, with scattered areas having slightly wider shoulder areas. These widened shoulders allow for areas to pull off for passing. The shoulders, including the areas of widened shoulders, are ledged and can be yielding. The ledges have steep drops into abutting wetlands or swamp areas. When using the shoulders, use caution as the ledges may shear off and may result in the vehicle rolling or dropping into adjacent wetlands. There is a day-use permit fee of $3 per person or $6 per vehicle for daily use. Some exceptions may apply to those who hold a current WMA Permit from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission; check with FWC and download the specific WMA regulations posted on their website. All visitors are required to check in at the "Check Station", which is an iron post next to an information board located on the south side of Tuckers Grade. During hunting seasons, visitors may also need to check in with the staff at the hunter check station and show the day-use permit before being granted further access to the WMA. ** The Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission limits access to only named and numbered trails due to severe impacts of Off-Road Vehicle/Off-Highway Vehicles (ORV/OHV) and related environmental damages. Remember to tread lightly and to remain on only named or numbered roads/trails.** The trail can be driven by most 2WD vehicles and ORV/OHV, motorcycles, and street legal vehicles are allowed when gates are open and signs are not posted prohibiting access or area closed.
