Trail Overview
ONF Trail 5-18.4 runs North to South from ONF Trail 5 to ONF 50. The trail is primarily loose sand; you can expect deep sand in places and be met with tight, mildly technical sections. Some areas can have water and mud after rainfall--potential for dirt and water up to 3 feet deep. The trail is generally only one vehicle wide, with areas to pull off to allow passing. The trail is tight in place, and pinstriping can be expected along this trail. Some obstacles may be encountered, such as fallen trees and washouts. The trail is not recommended for 2WD vehicles due to deep, soft sand in several places. The trail is limited to registered motor vehicles only. Frequent wildlife can be viewed, including deer, bears, etc.
