Trail Overview
Maige Trail is a versatile and scenic forest route that offers a little bit of everything. When dry, the trail is mostly sandy and provides an easy, enjoyable drive suitable for a wide range of vehicles. However, after rain, several deep mud holes along the route can quickly turn things technical and even treacherous, making four wheel drive and recovery gear highly recommended. The trail winds through beautiful pine forest and connects to a variety of side trails, many of which are controlled by seasonal gates. These gated routes can open up additional access during hunting seasons or dry months, adding even more potential for exploration. Maige Trail is a solid choice for those looking for a route that offers both a relaxed forest cruise and the occasional off-road challenge. Remember to pack in, pack out, leave no trace, and tread lightly.
