Trail Overview

This trail is located within Osceola National Forest and the Osceola Wildlife Management Area. The trail is open to public access year-round unless otherwise posted. This trail may be ridden by registered motor vehicles, all terrain vehicles, recreational off-highway vehicles (side-by-sides), and unlicensed or unregistered motorcycles. Vehicles are only allowed on name and numbered trails. There are select areas where county owned and maintained roads prohibit the use of OHV's, ATV's and unregistered/non-licensed motorcycles on the right of ways. These areas are well posted on the shoulders of the roadways. This is the only National Forest that offers fee free, no-permit required access year around. This is a good trail for new adventurers as access from the northern trailhead is off the paved county road 250. This trail can be an out and back or used to access numerous other trails. The trail is not very difficult and easy to complete in less than an hour. Sections of trail can be soft and may require 4WD. The trail is mainly single vehicle wide with plenty of areas to pull-off for passing. The trail is composed of sand and dirt. Rutting, potholes and contours in grade can be expected. This trail leads through a variety of landscapes, ranging from pine/oak Hammocks, hardwood swamps, and wetland/marsh areas. Following rains and or storms the trail may go unmaintained.
