Trail Overview

This trail is located within Osceola National Forest and the Osceola Wildlife Management Area. The trail is open to public access year-round unless otherwise posted. This trail may be ridden by registered motor vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, recreational off-highway vehicles (side-by-sides), and unlicensed or unregistered motorcycles. Vehicles are only allowed on named and numbered trails. There are select areas where county-owned and maintained roads prohibit the use of OHVs, ATVs, and unregistered/non-licensed motorcycles on the right of ways. These areas are well posted on the shoulders of the roadways. This is the only National Forest that offers fee-free, no-permit-required access year-round. This trail does not connect directly to an improved or paved roadway and requires traveling through the various other trails that interconnect and intersect this trail within the forest. Depending on the chosen route to access, a high clearance or 4WD may be required. The trail is dirt and sand with pockets of soft mud. During the rainy season, expect water crossings up to 12 inches in some areas and more areas of mud. Fallen trees may obstruct or impede the path of travel. Crossing over, around, or clearing obstacles adds to the challenge of the trail. This trail can be an out-and-back or used to access numerous other spur trails that lead to various parts of the forest. The trail is mainly single vehicle wide with plenty of areas to pull off for passing. Rutting, potholes, and contours in grade can be expected. This is a scenic trail that crosses through a variety of landscapes, ranging from pine/oak hammocks, hardwood swamps, and wetland/marsh areas. Following rains and or storms, the trail may go unmaintained.
