Trail Overview

Highway One (Part Two) is a continuation of Highway One (Part One) ATV trail that is the main thoroughfare between the Peach Valley staging area and the Elephant Skin staging area. From the north trailhead, it drops down from Peach Valley staging area and becomes a wide major dirt trail on adobe clay soil. It is as wide as a highway in parts and very whooped out. There are also deep G-outs and ravine crossings to watch out for. Keep following signs for Highway One which are spaced frequently throughout the trail. The trail eventually veers left from the whooped-out wide track, and heads up one of the adobe hills to follow a ridge line on top of the hills. The trail has some climbs and descents while following the ridge line. This section of trail is much narrower compared to the beginning, with one spot dropping off the ridge line that may even be a bit too narrow for ATVs. It drops back into the valley and continues as a wide track, and continues to go southeast in the valley between the adobe hills towards the Elephant Skin staging area. Keep following signs for Highway One, as it climbs up on top of an adobe ridge line again that is wide enough for ATVs, with several ups and downs. It winds on the ridge line, and eventually drops down into the staging area.
