Trail Overview

This trail, Two Road Road (yes, there are two Roads in the name), is accessed off Monitor Pass Road. This scenic dirt track winds through a peaceful aspen forest before gradually climbing up the hillside. Early on, the trail meanders through stands of tall, white-barked trees, especially beautiful in autumn, while a few sections present small embedded rocks to keep things interesting. A well-worn bypass skirts a downed tree, signaling that this route is still actively explored. As you gain elevation, the forest opens to reveal sweeping views of the surrounding ridgelines and distant valleys of Nevada. The trail narrows in a few areas, making wider rigs work a little harder to squeeze through the trees. Several pullouts provide perfect spots for quick stops, photos, or a thermos of coffee with a view.
