Trail Overview

This connector trail runs between the Long Canyon 4WD trail and the Bald Mountain overlook trail. This trail is comparable to Long Canyon in difficulty and consists of tight turns, short steep sections with loose rocks and dirt, gnarly roots, and some smaller boulders. This connector trail is best suited for shorter wheel-based vehicles. At the end of this connector, take a left turn as you join the Bald Mt overlook trail, which will take you to a gorgeous granite slab area with ample remote camping options and stellar views of the surrounding Sierra Nevada. See the Long Canyon and Bald Mt overlook trails for more information.

Difficulty

This section is moderate, plan on bobbing and weaving through tight turns and some runoff washouts. Longer-based vehicles or those with trailers will have more difficulty on this connector, and may not be able to squeeze through. Deadfall is always a concern, so bring a chainsaw and avoid this area during high wind events.
