Difficulty

Moderate: Powerline Road is easy. Pronghorn Trail is sandy, narrow and undulating in places with one steep, tippy climb over large rock outcrop. Short wheel-based vehicles best. We managed in our stock 4-door Rubicon.

Access Description

Get off Interstate 5 at Smokey Bear Exit and head west. Follow signs to Hungry Valley Road and continue west 2.8 miles to sign for Freeman Canyon on right. Starting point is one-half mile east of Lane Ranch Campground.
