Trail Overview

This trail starts right off Bull Creek Road and maintains a width of 1 to 1.5 vehicles throughout its length. The very sandy and dusty surface runs parallel to a creek, providing pleasant water sounds and views during the journey. Lined with bushes and various types of trees, the route creates natural corridors through diverse vegetation. The trail remains relatively smooth overall, though drivers must zigzag around felled trees that have been cut and pushed to the roadside but remain as obstacles along the route. This is an active mining area with established mining claims. The trail climbs over 500 feet in just over 2.5 miles, providing a steady but manageable ascent through the terrain. At mile 0.7, ruts appear during a small hill climb, measuring under 12 inches in depth and requiring careful line selection. Low-hanging branches in this section pose hazards that can contact tall vehicles, demanding awareness of overhead clearance. At mile 1.25, the trail climbs up and transitions onto a shelf road that provides beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys below, offering scenic rewards for the climbing effort. While 4x4 is not required for this route, good tires are essential for maintaining traction on the sandy surface and navigating the various obstacles safely.
