Trail Overview
This trail runs from east to west, starting near the railroad tracks by Highway 80 and ending at BLM 137. The route runs through a field of teddy bear cacti and various desert bushes, creating a densely vegetated corridor. You're traveling through a large area of mega power windmills where massive turbines tower overhead. The surface is mainly soft fine sand with lots of whoops creating an undulating, flowing ride. After a mile and a half, the trail jumps onto a graded three vehicle wide sand and gravel road, dramatically improving the surface conditions and providing much more comfortable navigation for the remainder of the route.

Difficulty
The mainly soft fine sand with lots of whoops requires momentum management, and airing down is recommended for better traction and comfort. The whoops create a bouncy ride but aren't technically difficult. After the first mile and a half, the transition to a graded three vehicle wide road makes the rest easy and straightforward. The teddy bear cacti field means you need to stay on the designated trail to avoid painful encounters.
