Trail Overview
One of Southern California's gateways to some solid off-road trails and adventure roads. Parking is limited, so don't expect a big welcoming lot. The area has a bit of a sketchy reputation, so keep your head on a swivel. The ride up is short but delivers some killer views overlooking Interstate 15. The main road is usually clear and fairly well-maintained. It's accessible by 4x4s and dual sport or dirt bikes without much drama. Conditions are typically firm and rideable in dry weather. Loose gravel and dust can build up in spots, especially after traffic. After rain, watch for ruts and slick sections. A good jump-off spot if you're heading deeper into the trail system.

Difficulty
Expect a mix of loose rock, sandy patches, erosion, and rutted dirt throughout the trail. Washes cut across sections of the route and can change the line depending on recent weather. It's not super technical, but uneven terrain and occasional water crossings keep it interesting and reward riders who stay alert.
History
Cleghorn Ridge, also known as FS 2N47, started as a Forest Service road used for fire access, land management, and early backcountry travel through the San Bernardino foothills. Over time, it became a go-to route for 4x4s, dual sport riders, and dirt bikes thanks to its long ridgeline, views, and easy access from the Cajon Pass. Today it's considered a classic Southern California OHV trail, with a mix of maintained road and rider-created lines that keep it interesting year after year.
