Trail Overview

This is a 1-mile connecting piece of trail between the upper and lower segments of the Acorn Grotto Trail. This segment is easy, as it climbs up a hillside on a wide smooth path for the first half of the route, then descends back down. It's a little bit shelfy as it hugs the hillside, but it does not have as much exposure as in the lower segment of Acorn Grotto. It has several wide banked turns, and remains a gradual grade throughout the route. It drops down several wide and gradual switchbacks on the north end to drop down to the road again. The switchbacks are easy and approachable, with a little bit of loose rock in one of them. The steepest part is on the north end as it drops down to the road, but it's also very wide as well. It is about a mile long piece of trail that avoids having to take the road 25N14, which parallels it the whole way.
