Trail Overview

Uneven, rutted dirt trail with loose rocks and sand. Muddy conditions should be expected during the rainy season. The trail is primarily one vehicle wide with some portions wide enough for passing oncoming traffic. Steep cliffs and drop-offs are common throughout the trail, as well as sharp winding curves. Caution should be taken to avoid oncoming traffic.

After the weekend rain/snow you van expect a lot of mud and at higher elevation slippery snow. I managed to go all the way up but there were some difficult sections because of ruts hidden under the snow and a lot of slushy snow. Lifted vehicle and lockers are recommended. Be safe out there.

The beginning of the trail is very easy, even a car can do it, but about half way towards the first yellow post site it will start to get very rutted, and muddy, then about 2/3 of the way you will encounter snow. You may be able to do it in a 2wd truck with very good tires but will have trouble. 4wd and u will slip here and there but nothing serious. Its relatively easy getting to the first yellow post site with a 4wd or awd vehicle
