Trail Overview
Uncle Sam Road is a gem in the land of overgrown underbrush and paint damage. This trail is wide and beautiful, with no obstacles whatsoever. A couple of beautiful wash crossings could prove challenging during monsoon season or after storms, but the ride is gorgeous, and the crossings have campsites beside them. The odd sneaky rock in the trail urges you to keep cautious, but the trail gives epic views of the surrounding countryside that, at times, are breathtaking. At its terminus, the road heads up to Uncle Sam's mine, and the road narrows a bit and is peppered with fresh tree limbs and roots making the last part the most ominous, as these have tendencies to pop tires. There's plenty of space on this trail, both for passing and turning around, with a large open area near the mine for getting out of the rig and enjoying the fresh air.
