Trail Overview

This backcountry loop provides impressive red rock formations as well as some cool Native American cliff dwellings. There are some camping spots along the way if you want to take a few days to explore the area. Take advantage of the unique side roads that allow unlicensed vehicles.

Difficulty

Moderate: Most of the loop is easy, but a couple of steep, rocky sections require a moderate rating. Most stock SUVs with high ground clearance can do it. Skid plates will help.

Access Description

From Sedona: Take Highway 89A west about 10 miles and turn right on F.S. 525 between mile posts 365 and 364. Drive north on dirt road 6.3 miles to our starting point.
