Trail Overview
Lower 6 is a beautiful wide trail that dances across this section of the Kaibab National Forest. Wide and made of a mix of gravel and dirt, you'll find no obstacles over 12" on this trail. Near the South end, large flocks of sheep work their way across the grassy areas. Closer to the highway there are large open camping areas. There are several wash crossings, and some areas of erosion and degradation, but overall this trail is a beaut', Clark! There are a few rock gardens, near the uphill sections of this trail, but those can be easily handled by any 4x4 vehicle. You'll pass several wildlife tanks along this trail, with evidence of deer, javelina, and smaller mammals such as jackrabbit and squirrels.
