Trail Overview

This 5.6-mile out-and-back trail is a fun side trail when traveling Groom Peak Loop. The trail has several short off-shots that go to old mines or prospecting areas. Along the trail, you will find several veins of quartz protruding from the ground. At 1.7 miles stop to enjoy a great view of the Big Sandy river valley and Aquarius mountain range. This is a good turnaround point as the trail beyond this point becomes more difficult to travel. At 2.8 miles you enter a portion of the wash that is passable by only Dirt Bike. Several large boulders approx. 3-4' in size block the trail. This is an open range area so be on the lookout for cattle grazing along the trail.

Difficulty

Single vehicle trail with multiple washed out areas with ledges up to 12", several steep grades with loose rocks.
