Trail Overview
This wide two-lane forest road begins just off the highway and immediately passes through a mix of private inholdings and long-standing campsites, giving it a unique blend of public and historic use. The surrounding landscape features towering old-growth pines and unmanaged timber, creating a tight, shaded corridor that feels remote and rugged. Along the trail, you'll encounter two creek crossings and a notable large wooden bridge--often home to local wildlife, including the occasional alligator sighting. The route leads to a boat launch and rustic campground, making it ideal for a weekend of paddling, fishing, or just relaxing deep in the woods. Remember to pack in, pack out, leave no trace, and tread lightly.
