Trail Overview
This is a short, narrow and fun point-to-point trail that connects Peckinpah Road with Peckinpah Meadow. It winds down the slope on the mountainside through a wooded area and a section with some forest fire damage. The surface is primarily dirt, but also has several rock garden sections with obstacles up to 12" in height. There can be occasional shallow ruts and mud holes during wet weather. In the section recovering from forest fire damage, be aware that charred trees may be unstable or newly fallen tree obstacles might be present on the trail. An access gate maintained by the USFS on Peckinpah Road is locked annually from December to mid-April/May. Weak/limited cellular phone service in the area, and no potable water sources are available along the trail. Tread Lightly and Pack-It-Out.

Difficulty
Trail surface is primarily dirt with small embedded rocks and occasional shallow ruts. There are also a few short rocky ledge sections. Depending on the season and weather, this trail may be muddy and slippery. Moderate clearance height is recommended to manage the trail obstacles easily. The USFS posted trail sign indicates 4x4 vehicles are permitted, but the trail becomes narrow (less than 60") at the halfway point and would cause significant side panel damage to wider vehicles.
