Trail Overview
Cannell FS24S12 is a 10 mile out and back that winds through young and mature pine trees within Sequoia National Forest, climbing over 900 feet and dropping over 550 feet across just over 6 miles of one-way travel. Pine cones and downed branches are scattered throughout and require occasional maneuvering. The trail progressively narrows and conditions worsen as you push further in, with ruts and off-camber sections becoming more pronounced in the latter sections.

Difficulty
Ruts up to 6 inches deep appear throughout and off-camber sections emerge as the trail progresses. The gradual deterioration of trail conditions combined with the narrowing width toward the far end adds commitment to the back half of the route. The combined elevation change of over 1,400 feet across the full out and back adds physical demand throughout. Street legal vehicles only are permitted.
