Trail Overview

From Hwy 4 side the all-day adventure was on ungraded logging roads. They still log here on these roads so please drive slow and be aware of logging trucks possibly coming at you. You will drive on pavement and then it turns to deep dust, rocky in some spots but nothing hard. A basic pickup or higher clearance vehicle and make it from the Hwy 108 side. This road is closed after the first snowfall.

Access Description

From Highway 108 drive up to the Beardsley Reservoir, turn off, drive all the way to the dam and across the dam, and up through the Peeled Onion. I came in from Hwy 4 side, (Dorrington, Sourgrass, FS5N02). That route took at least 4 hours. From Highway 108 side (Beardsley Road, down to the reservoir and past the BSA camp) it is roughly 1-2 hours.
